c.1928 Tipp & Co., Clockwork Civilian Touring Motorcycle

Classic lithographed tinplate "Civilian Touring Motorcycle" produced in Germany by Tipp & Co. Powered by original clockwork motor. Runs great!

Colorful and extremely well detailed toy features integrated motorcycle and rider combination dressed in period clothing. Motorcycle has embossed engine, gas tank and fender bars, rear fender rack, with Dunlop Cord balloon tires. The smaller training wheels plus the black flat kick plate stand are professional replacements made by Joe Freeman and they look fantastic. Lithoed "Made in Germany" on right rear exhaust. Tipp trademark was lithoed on both sides of the gas tank.

Clockwork motor is all original, still very strong, and works great.

Note: Two slots can be seen just behind the rider's right leg. Originally this motorcycle held an enclosed sidecar that fit into these slots. It has never been replaced.

Size: 7½".
